How We Calculate

Transparent formulas

Every calculator page explains the formula or conversion rule used. Editable assumptions are exposed where real-world values vary, such as material density, marketplace fees, paint coverage, tax rates or waste allowances.

Defaults are starting points

Defaults make a calculator easy to try, but they are not presented as official rates. Where a value can change by product, jurisdiction, lender, platform or supplier, users are told to replace it with the current applicable value.

Estimates versus exact conversions

Unit conversions use standard conversion factors. Project quantities, finance projections and cost calculations are estimates because real outcomes can depend on additional variables.

Quality approach

Formulas are kept small and auditable. Pages state their assumptions, give a worked example and link to adjacent calculators so users can cross-check related quantities.

Search policy

NUMTX is built for people first. We avoid publishing many near-duplicate pages that exist only for slightly different keyword wording. Related search intents are combined when one good tool can answer them properly.
